Catherine Pendelich - Singing Teacher

Having taught in both private and public schools as a singing and music teacher, Catherine specialises in private tuition in her home studio in Carnegie with children as young as six years old. Engagement and exploration of the voice is learnt through trusted principles of singing and musicianship is discovered through repertoire. Lessons are fun, informative and full of discovery! Catherine also sets goal focussed curriculum to assist older students in preparing for scholarships, VCE, university examinations and professional audition.

Catherine is one of Melbourne’s established sopranos. From her beginnings in the chorus of Opera Victoria, she undertook a Bachelor of Music and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education, graduating with high distinction from Monash University, and now enjoys her solo performance career. Her passion and specialty is in the Concert Platform performing works of composers such as Barber, Manuel De Falla, Britten, and Tregaskis. She has performed most of the major oratorio and liturgical repertoire with many community based ensembles and has sung with the Melbourne Symphonic Chorus. She has held vocal scholarships with St Michael’s Uniting Church, Melbourne and St John’s Anglican Church, Toorak. Catherine is also known for her mastery many musical genres and regularly appears in venues and festivals in Melbourne, and around Victoria, engaging audiences with her versitility in opera, musical theatre, and jazz.
